Globalize This!!
At the beggining of the school year we were just introduced to the ten understandings of TIG. As a class we researched on them. When we were told about the film festival I thought it was going to be so cool until we were divided into three groups and set to our topics. My topic was ICTs and Digital Opportunities. My first thought then was " What ICTs!" I had absolutely no clue. Even after we had researched the topic I didn't really understand until I went and checked the dictionary for ICT. ICt was the short from of Information communication Technologies.I then understood it a little more.We then started to watch some documentary shows on T.V. and watched two documentary films. On was “Forest Gump” and “Swim With Me”. Swim with me was a documentary also created by youth to address the Issue HIV and AIDs.

We were then sent to create some storyboards. to guide us on what to put in our film. When the Tig members came in the they taught us the program Movie maker and the second time Ben who is no longer a TIG member, but came in any way and taught us flash which was incorporated mostly in our film. When got our laptops my class’s reaction was “We get to use laptops.....whoa!”The laptops come in handy because we had to move them from class to class to export movies from the camera, to listen to music to add in our film away from everyone else and some times we needed a place where it was quiet to work. The first few time we were on movie maker we were just playing around with transitions and effects on the pictures. The the playing stopped and you can say hello to homework and more homework. WE used digital cameras to take pictures, and we had some classes where weren’t allowed to go on the laptops and we had to do art pieces. In our film we used lots of pictures from goggle ( not copyrighted) and form the global gallery.

When the film was finished we started to edit, add and take out. We had started our display boards and they were filling very slowly. After the film was edited we had to export it.Our film was exported twice before it was good to go on the big screen. The gym was still to be decorated. On the day of the big night we put up our display boards and our understandings. We put our brochures in a fancy way with our business cards with each h of our names on it in different piles. The big night had come and my group was being asked a lot of questions that needed to scratch our brain but thankfully we answered the questions. I did a lot of talking( while my group members were standing there smiling :P). After the killing questions were done the films were being showcased. Before each film the group had to go up and make an introduction. When my turn had came I said my part before we went on stage but when the real time had come I blanked out (very embarrassing). O’well people had told me that our film made up for it so i didn't mind so much. That night was a night I will never forget. This project was a great experience and now my class wants to do a “Film Festival #2”. We don’t want to go back to the regular language and math.

It was such a cool experience and I would so do it again!!!!

Film

Okay we have only one more week to work on our films (panick)We are now adding little touches to our film and editing it. My group (ICTs and Digital Opportunities)has little more work to do. We have to get more music because the other music because the one we have makes you fall asleep and it is soo lame. We also have to add more pictures fix and our placement of things.... and way more to do. This week my group and I are going to be so busy. But I can’t wait to finish this film so I can have a blank mind again. It is soooo much work and stress. It may sound easy like it can be done in 5 minutes but it can’t. My class has been working on this project since November and we still haven’t finished yet. So far the films that I’ve seen from other groups are good and well on their way to be and be presented with a little touch ups there and here.*sigh* Work, work, work....that is all it has been since te beginning of this year.....AND WE HAVE ONE MORE WEEK TO FINISH THIS !!! We have work way overour heads...

Peace :) :P :) :P :) :P :):P :) :P :) :P :) :P :) :P :) :P :) :P :) :P :) :P

P.S. I admit though it is still lots of fun and a great experience and if you don't know what im talking about read my other posts.

Films

Its only work, work work that has no end. We've been doing brochures,Buisness cards, invitations and of course the main thing of all the film. It isn't easy doing transitions effects, music and other stuff that make yu just go crazy! But on the other hand it is cool and fun. If you don't know yet TIG chose my class to be the pilot class and make films relating to the Ten Understandings. You get to learns how to put a film together and how to use ew programs such as Flash, movie maker and Phototshop.Th films are going well from my point of view. But there is still lots of work to do such as displays bards and edditing and adding the final touches. This is a great opportunity for my class. Fun but lots of work... and we have 1 more week to complete the film on or topics!!

Peace Out ! :P :P :) :P :P :) :P :P :) :P :P
